Filming on Stranger Things season two is about to get rolling and Netflix has just announced three new cast members: Linnea Berthelsen, Sean Astin, and Paul Reiser.

Berthelsen is a young, Danish newcomer who plays a character named “Roman.” Roman is described as “an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child. Although she does not live in Hawkins, she is mysteriously connected to the supernatural events at the lab…”

Astin (above) really needs no introduction. The Goonies, Lord of the Rings, Rudy, you know him and you love him. He’s playing “Bob Newby,” “a kind-hearted former nerd who went to high school with Joyce and Hopper and now manages the local Hawkins RadioShack.”

And Reiser, the legendary comedian, and star of Aliens and Mad About You, is “Dr. Owens,” described as “a high-ranking member within the Department of Energy on a ‘clean-up’ assignment, tasked with containing the events of last year.”

What you get from these descriptions is season two is going to be very, very closely related to the events of season one. Clean-up is still happening, a girl from out of town is affected, etc. That’s an exciting revelation as there are plenty of mysteries left to be uncovered.
