Back in the ’30s, two Disney heavy weights created the 12 basic principles of animation. As part of Disney’s “nine old men,” Frank Thompson and Ollie Johnson were experts in the field and had as good a grasp on what made cartoons realistic as anyone alive today. And this video, made by Cento Lodigiani, does a fantastic job of simply demonstrating those 12 principles at work.
