The fine folks over at the Transformers fansite The Spacebridge have managed to get their hands on a bunch of storyboards from the original 1986 Transformers: The Movie, with which they discovered that Ultra Magnus' death at the hands of Galvatron was originally supposed to be ridiculously more violent that how it ended up on screen. In the finished movie, Magnus is shot a few times and then falls down (you can see the scene here). But as the Spacebridge's video above shows, Magnus was supposed to be drawn and quartered, getting visibly torn apart, limb from robotic limb. Man, and I thought Optimus' death was traumatic.
The Spacebridge also pieced together this second deleted scene of the Autobots kicking Devastator's ass, if you're so inclined.
