Seth Rogan tweeted another look at the storyboard for the Preacher television pilot, and he keeps proving that they’re hewing really close to the source material for it. This time, it’s the opening song.

The last tweet there was a card reading “Daily Breakfast, Jesse w/” on the board, which could refer to the opening scene of the comic’s first issue, with Custer, his girlfriend Tulip and Cassidy. This time, the tweet shows a music cue:

Willie Nelson’s “Time of the Preacher” is the song Jesse Custer is singing in his first comics appearance. More and more, this is looking like a truly faithful adaptation of the origin. Time will tell if it’s too faithful, and poorly adapted for television, or if it’s just right. Until then, enjoy the music.
