We already knew that Simon was on his way to becoming a full-fledged vampire on Shadowhunters, and last night on “Bad Blood,” he finally crossed the line from whiny sidekick to whiny bloodsucker. Great. But his weepy transformation did reveal one hilarious thing about vamps in the Shadowhunters universe.
It’s this: They can’t say “Oh my god.” At least not at first; it takes time being able to re-learn how to spit it out. Simon seems more freaked out by the fact that his go-to exclamation comes out “Oh my grrrrmfffff” than by his rude rebirth as a creature of the night. But fortunately, as we see, he can still yell “Dammit!” So he’s got that going for him, which is nice.
