From the usual viewer’s vantage point, it’s hard to appreciate the violent physics of a really great series of skate park tricks. That’s why this video shot from underneath pro skater Dean-Paul Denniston’s board is so mesmerizing: you get a front-row seat to all the grinding, slamming, kickflipping action.

Amazingly, the individual moves that go into Denniston’s tricks make sense viewed from this under-board angle. You can appreciate the impeccable timing, the dead-eye aim, and the knife-edge balance required to pull off these stunts. And you get a newfound appreciation for the straight up abuse that Denniston’s board endures. Just watching the hits that his deck and trucks absorb could make you cringe. If you weren’t too busy grinning at the awesomeness. [SBNation via Digg]
