Skinner and Cigarette-Smoking Man Are Returning For New X-Files Series

We are thrilled that Mulder and Scully are returning to the new6-episode X-Files revival series. But what about the rest of the show’s spooky outsider characters? Well, you’re in luck: Two series favorites could be coming back.

While on the Late Show with David Letterman, David Duchovny dropped a few enticing X-Files hints, saying that Assistant FBI Director Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) and Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davis) will both be back. This warms our nostalgic hearts.

In other news, TV Wise is reporting that Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish (sort of the replacement Mulder and Scully for the final two seasons) are also in talks to come back. But that part hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, plus that’s a lot of people from the series. Not complaining — just curious as to how Chris Carter is going to pull this one off.
