Come Tuesday, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be on VOD. But as of this weekend, it’s still in theaters, and that means it’s still webbing up money.

Box office reporting shows Spidey’s now at a little over $2.5 billion global this weekend. Along with keeping its status as the third highest-grossing movie ever, it’s also now the highest-grossing of 2026 and in North America specifically. And according to the Hollywood Reporter, Brand New Day also has the distinction of making Spider-Man the highest-grossing movie character ever. The outlet also noted that Peter Parker movies—as in, his headliners and (presumably) guest appearances in other flicks—have made over $17.5 billion worldwide total.

That’s not the only current Marvel movie that’s still going strong. In its second weekend, Avengers Endgame: Encore made $18.8 million worldwide, with $14.4 million coming from international territories. With the re-release, Endgame is once again the #1 movie of all-time at $2.9255 billion worldwide, just a bit ahead of Avatar’s $2.9237 billion. Until Avatar’s 20th birthday in 2009, or another Avengers or Star Wars movie comes along, Endgame may maintain its top spot for a while.

Recent rummors suggest Sony might try to double dip with Brand New Day and put it back in theaters with some extra goodies. This wouldn’t be the first Holland Spidey flick to be re-released, so if it does happen, it’d be an interesting upset for the Avengers to get dethroned by one of their own.
