Spray Painting with a Skateboard Is Just As Fun As It Sounds

These skaters attached a remote control spray paint can to the bottom of their skateboards. That way, whenever they would skate, a trail of paint would follow their path. It all makes for chaotically colorful artwork.

Ingeniously, the skaters chose to tag up an empty pool. Given the constant loopy back and forths that are necessary to ride a pool, the painting began to almost look like a spirograph. Look at all those circles! Oh, the colors! I just love the idea of amazing art being a byproduct of what people, or skaters, normally do. [YouTube via Neatorama]

I am pretty unimpressed with that. The final product is pretty lackluster at best. The concept had promise but it goes against the basic ethic of skateboarding which is to have some style while you are at it. It looks like very little thought was put into making it into a real piece of art, which could be forgiven if he didn't spend a year of preparation for this. He coulda at least been creative with the color palette. I rank it right up there with planking and freeze mobs.
