Behold three Star Trek-themed wines, dubbed "The City on the Edge of Forever," "Mirror Mirror" and "The Trouble with Tribbles." I'd make a crack about how the wines probably taste like Harlan Ellison's rage, Leonard Nimoy's goatee and furry flesh balls respectively, but I love it anytime someone combines nerdiness and booze.
You can pre-order them at Vinport for $24.99 each. As for what's in the bottles:
The wine used in this collection is produced from the award-winning Viansa Winery in Sonoma, California. It is a special blend of Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Dolcetto, Tinta Cao, and Tempranillo. The blend comes together to create a medium-bodied, easy drinking red wine that is full of depth and character.
So it's the same wine, just in bottled in three different styles (the labels are from illustrator Juan Ortiz's amazing episode-specific art prints that CBS commissioned).
Whether you're a Trek fan, a wine aficionado, or actually think these are dumb, I feel fairly confident in saying that I bet these will sell out soon. If you want one — or three — I wouldn't wait too long. And then someone needs to get around to making some Saurian brandy.
