Due to some mysterious server mumbo jumbo, our untold story of the OLPC's hardware beginnings—featuring amazing facts, fun pics and an exclusive video interview with Nicholas Negroponte—is unable to load at this time. Stay tuned, though, cuz it's a doozie.
@: 2010...ish. i dont remember much in the way of pushbacks for the original XO-1...so i bet this will come out more or less (2011 the latest i'm thinking) on time.
@Git Em SteveDave displays attention-grabbing vanity: choose something that you love to do with your regular computer and try doing it on the XO or try to use the pretty unique setup of the XO-1 to do things that you cant do on your regular laptop (e.g. i use my xo to read e books because it has a very simple setup, alot of real estate to hold the xo by while i'm reading from it, and an e ink screen which means i wont mess up my eyes while reading from it for hours at a time.)
i'll be really interested in this story. i go to to olpcnews all the time and dont think i have ever seen anything like this.
of course gizmodo could be pulling our leg and it could simply be information that if you keep up with the machine's evolution you probably already know. we'll see i guess.
