Welcome to SPLOID, Gizmodo’s spin-off blog of all things awesome: News that feels like it’s from the future, weird and wonderful happenings, discoveries that can change the world, or just beautiful images and videos—all the things that truly and honestly surprise us.
We started SPLOID because we want a place that contains the futuristic stuff that we truly love, the news that literally makes us go “that’s awesome,” the ideas and technologies that make us dream about living 200 years more so we can experience that future.
We have been sploiding in our Area 51 hangar for almost two months, getting our engines ready to jump to warp speed, so there’s a lot of content for you to explore.
Together with Deputy Editor Casey Chan, I’ll be manning the site as Editor-in-Chief. Don’t hesitate to contact me or him if you have a cool story that you want to see in our pages—perhaps something you wrote on your personal Kinja—like an inspiring photo, or an awesome video that you found or, even better, made yourself.
