Step Right Up For Gizmodo Comments

One of the best things about Gizmodo is that it is self-correcting. In those extremely rare instances when I get something wrong, say eight times per day, a smarter and often more foul-mouthed reader sends a tip to set the record straight. Well, starting today people can call B.S. right here on Gizmodo using comments.

So, how do you comment? In the tradition of Gmail, access to comments is by invitation only. The reason for this isn’t so that Gizmodo can be all elitist and haughty. It’s just an easy way to avoid saboteurs, punks, and the rest of my family from creating a lot of distraction. Scoring an invitation is easy: Blog well, send a tip that gets published, or find a friend who received an extra invite. There are more ways, but you’ll have to read the whole FAQ to find out. The invitations are being sent even as you read this. Let me know what you think of the plan—I have a feeling you will.
