Anechoic chambers are where sounds go to die. They’re bonkers. And while the hemi-anechoic chamber that Fry visits isn’t quite as silent as, say, the maddeningly noiseless chamber at Orfield Labs in Minnesota – which is said to induce hallucinations as a result of sensory deprivation – it’s still pretty damn quiet.
