In case you were doubting Steve Wozniak‘s allegiance after the Nexus One debacle, he’s told Newsweek that he’s going to buy three iPads this weekend—two for him, and one for an unnamed friend.

He’s not the only one who has had doubts about how necessary the iPad is:

“At first I thought, this is not for me. I have the iPhone for mobility and a computer for my computer life. With the iPhone there are certain things it just doesn’t do well, mostly in browsing. It’s horrible to navigate a map on an iPhone because of the screen size.”

On the two iPads he’s buying, one will be the Wi-Fi model, the other a 3G model, presumably for the same reason he carries two iPhones:

“If the battery runs down on the first one, I can use the other. And if I’m talking on one, I can use the other one to look something up. You would not believe how much use I get out of that”

He’ll be waiting in line from Friday night, so if you’re queuing at the Westfield Valley Fair Mail in San Jose, keep your eyes peeled—he may just nick your spot in the line. [Newsweek via CNET]
