Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment is on a tear of acquiring new content. They just released The BFG, picked up the YA series The Gates and now they’ve acquired the buzzed-about spec script, The Fall, which sounds like The Road meets War of the Worlds.
We wrote about The Fall a few weeks ago as one of two prominent alien invasion scripts currently going around Hollywood. Well, the first one—Moonfall—sold to Universal, and now this one has sold to Amblin. It’s written by Pete Bridges and follows a newly divorced couple who have to travel on foot, from the city to the suburbs, during an alien invasion to get to their kids.
