Like our friend Dave Zats, you may have noticed that Amazon is offering an extra day of viewing for select online rentals. After a little digging, he discovered that the studios are the ones experimenting in this area.
It’s hard for me to understand why someone would rent a movie online, then just walk away for two days—but I know a lot of you would welcome the flexibility. Not all of the studios are on board with this yet, but it could snowball through the industry, especially on iTunes. After all, they need to find something to balance out all of the tactics they use to screw you. [Amazon and Zats]
