While recalling his sci-fi roots, director (and David Lynch purist) Jared Hess revealed a little trivia: “I worked with some of the crew that worked on Dune… They had all these wacky stories about all the worms they went through, because some of them were quite phallic in their inception originally. They knew they would have to change that.”
