Ignoring the fact that, in essence, this is just another iPod dock+radio, Teac’s SR-L200i pulls one thing off very well: it looks very, muy, muito good. She shimmers like a beautiful grand piano, don’t she? Chalk that up to its sheeny, shiny finish. Beyond just sitting back in the corner and admiring its beauty (sounds a little like high school, doesn’t it, Mr. Wallflower?), you could, you know, if you wanted to, plop in an iPod and feel the music through its 2-channel, 4-watt speakers. It also features a dynamic bass boost sound system, but then again, so does my toothbrush.
The SR-L200i is available in Japan for around $210. Perfect for the four people who haven’t already bought, and subsequently thrown out, an iPod dock. At least it looks pretty. Prettiness makes up for a lot of shortcomings, as we all know.
