What’s amazing about this scene—where our leads literally smear themselves with dino crap—is that it exists in any form. It was written, approved, and filmed. This scene made it that far before someone went, “Hmmm, maybe this undermines the dramatic tension a tad?
It even fails as an homage to the “That is one big pile of shit” scene from Jurassic Park. 1) The crap pile is not nearly large enough. 2) Originally Ian Malcolm looked at it and gave a pithy comment; he did not hunker down and gaze into its soul before sticking his hands in it. Ugh, there is no way to watch Jurassic World now and not, once we see them dirty, remember that they are covered in feces and it is by choice, not circumstance.
