Here's the thing: most tablet cases are dumb. If you have a bag, you probably don't need a case. It's not your phone. You won't drop it. But a great case can make it more aesthetically pleasing and useful.
The Dodocase has always been the best-looking case for the iPad, hands down. Now the San Francisco company is making them for the Kindle Fire, at an introductory price of $45.
It's well-made, carved out of bamboo and lined with fabric on the inside cover. It looks very much like an actual book. And if you want to use your tablet primarily as a reading device, I think it really enhances that experience. Another tip: if you're getting this as a present, get it monogrammed. [Dodocase]
