Nimble parkour movies, genetic time travel and wrist-mounted blade kills… yep, this sure looks like Assassin’s Creed. Will it be any good, though? We’ll know in December.
The main character’s name isn’t Desmond Miles—and thank God, who needs all that whining—but the first trailer might give fans of Ubisoft’s period-piece action games flashbacks to the first Assassin’s Creed title. Michael Fassbender’s playing Callum Lynch, a 21st-Century dude jumping into the life of his 15th Century ancestor to learn the skills needed to defeat the powerful Templars conspiracy. Hopefully, the movie won’t need a day-one patch when it comes out this winter.
