If there’s one thing that eBay is good for, it’s looking at all the fan art that gets placed there for sale that by people whose fetishes highly outweigh their actual talent. Such would seem to be the case with “Sir Iguana,” who seems to specialize in – in his words – “goth fantasy good girl” versions of superheroines, but he claims that he’s an animation professional who also inks for DC Comics. But, looking at his work, would you believe him?
Sir Iguana’s favorite type of art is apparently anything that involves large breasts and pouting lips, even if it means that he has to change the gender of the characters he’s drawing – Either that, or Cosmic Boy from the Legion of Super-Heroes (below) has changed a lot since I last read the book.
In what can only be seen as a victory of market forces, Sir Iguana’s work sells for around $6 on average – meaning that fans can either buy multiple pieces for their inevitably-soon-to-be-laminated private collection, or else have some money left over for, you know, less disturbing art.
