Curious how much it costs to max out the Next-Gen MacBook Pro with that retina display? For the time being, it's $3750 (or $3749, if you want to get technical about it). That includes a 2.7 GHz Ivy Bridge CPU ($250 upgrade from a 2.6 GHz CPU), 16-gigabytes of RAM ($200 upgrade from 8-gigabytes), and a 768-gigabyte SSD ($500 upgrade from a 512-gigabyte SSD).

It's worth noting that this max price is actually lower than both max prices on the previous-gen 15-inch MacBook Pro ($3900) and 17-inch MacBook Pro ($4100). Huh. [Apple]

Seriously, who in their right mind would pay that much for a freaking laptop?! Does anyone, besides maybe graphic designers or movie editors, really need 16 GB of RAM? I can seriously go out any get a very capable laptop for $300 from Micro Center and it'll have 4 GB of RAM, a 250 GB hard drive and a decent graphics card.
