Archie Comics’ Riverdale reboot continues to surprise: the company has just announced that the rocking adventures of Josie and the Pussycats are getting an ongoing series set in the same new continuity as the excellent Archie and Jughead comics.
Co-written by Marguerite Bennett and Cameron DeOrdio and with art from Audrey Mok, Josie and the Pussycats will begin as an origin story for the band in this new Archie-verse as Josie, Valerie, and Melody come together to begin their journey to fame. Maybe, just maybe, they’ll solve some mysteries along the way.
The band has been a stalwart of the Archie comics, but they’ve not had their own ongoing series in years—but hey, more of this excellent reboot world we have in Riverdale right now can only be a good thing. Josie and the Pussycats #1 will be released on September 28.
