The Post-Apocalyptic Stop-Motion Animated Film Junk Head Just Got a Trailer

Though I’m not sure if anyone will ever get to see the insane film I saw last month called Junk Head, there is some good news. First up, there’s a trailer for the film. Second, a prequel is in the works.

Junk Head is a mind-blowing stop-motion animated film by first-time filmmaker Takahide Hori. It’s an adaptation of his short film about a post apocalyptic world where one being is sent into the depths of the Earth to mine our clone ancestors to save humanity. Or something like that. It’s really quite weird and wonderful. Here’s the trailer.

Hori also just started a Kickstarter for a prequel to Junk Head called Bubble Heads. That film would take place the day before Junk Head starts and, there by, explain more of why the mission we see in Junk Head has to take place at all. Knowing what happens in Junk Head, that’s a question I’m very interested to see the answer too.

The one downside is that Junk Head took so long to make, who knows when Bubble Heads could see the light of day. But, mark my words, Hori is a filmmaker to keep an eye on. You can watch his original short here.

Below is my original review of Junk Head. Find out more about the film on its official site, though it does not yet have a release date.
