Remember when Keanu Reeves played a lawyer who went to work at a hot law firm — only to find that his new company actually was as hot as Hell? The movie Devil’s Advocate (originally based on a novel by Andrew Neiderman) is getting a TV adaptation. But who can replace Al Pacino?

According to Deadline, the Devil’s Advocate TV show pilot is being written by Matt Venne (Bag Of Bones, The Exorcism Of Molly Harley). And NBC has already committed to filming a pilot of the series, although that doesn’t mean it’ll actually get on television. The show is co-produced by John Wells, who’s also producing an Outbreak show for ABC. The one question mark hanging over this show is whether it can still work in an era where young law-school graduates aren’t finding the same level of opportunity they did 20 years ago. [Deadline]
