Amazon

What: A Wonder Woman origins story. It’s been described as the classic fish out of water story, for example the Amazon “moans” the first time she tries ice cream. Not as bad as the NBC boob monologuing Wonder Woman series, but a hard CW “oh golly look, no shirt” series.

S.H.I.E.L.D.

Area 51

What: Back in July, it was reported that AMC’s mysterious Area 51 drama was already shooting. The show is based on journalist Annie Jacobsen’s book Area 51: An Uncensored History of America’s Top Secret Military Base. Note, Jacobsen’s work is not science fiction, and in fact claims that the object of the 1947 Roswell UFO Incident was, in fact, a Soviet flying disc, which is a big strike against aliens or their remains popping up. So maybe there won’t be any little green men, but we’re still pretty keyed up about this drama.

Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death

What: Guillermo Del Toro’s Twin Peaks series based on the book The Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death by Corinne May Botz.
