Castles, spaceships, maybe even a few animals, those are the typical things that will jump out as you turn the pages of most pop-up books. But when it’s a pop-up book about The Walking Dead, you instead get zombie heads that explode with incredibly gory details.
Designed by paper engineers David Hawcock and Becca Zerkin, the $40 hardcover pop-up book has just five pages inside. But each one features a lavish paper creation that leaps off the page with simple animations, and is surrounded by other smaller activities so there’s lots to explore.
As beautiful as the book looks, it’s probably the last thing you want to be reading to kids before bedtime—or adults. Unless you like waking up in the middle of the night in terror after having a nightmare about being chased by zombies. To each their own.
