There’s Finally an All-Electric Version of the GMC Sierra Denali—For Kids

One of the last horizons for electric cars are work horse vehicles like pickup trucks that would suck a battery dry in no time. There is demand, though, which is why GMC is tip-toeing into the market with an all-electric version of the Sierra Denali that’s only spacious enough to seat a couple of three-year-olds.

It’s ok to be a little jealous of this eco-friendly hauler that boasts a top speed of five miles per hour, chrome-plated wheels with rubber tires, LED headlights, a rear bed that can haul a mountain of Lego or a couple of teddy bears, and a working smartphone-compatible stereo sound system.

On a full 12-hour charge this lil’ Sierra will run for about two hours, but mileage will vary depending on the number of passengers and the amount of cargo in the back. At $450 it’s by no means cheap, but it’s definitely still more affordable than even the down payment needed for the real thing—and it’s a lot easier to park. [Hammacher Schlemmer]
