Madame Tussauds specializes in creating lifelike wax statues. But when those statues are disassembled, put on the shelf, or piled against a wall, they look like trophies in a mad scientist’s lab or groaning figures from the zombie apocalypse.

Retronaut shared these 1930s photos that take us into the back rooms of Madame Tussauds. Who knew that Madame Tussauds’ assembly rooms were the prototype for Futurama’s Head Museum?
