Now that we know what the next season of American Horror Story is about, it’s a good time to catch up on the last few seasons of the show if you haven’t already seen it.
I recommend starting with Season 2 (“Asylum“), moving on Season 1 (“Murder House“) and then watching Season 3 (“Coven“) This is because each season of AHS is a self-contained mini-series. Most of the cast remains the same, but the seasons themselves feature completely unrelated storylines.
Asylum is my favorite season because it’s the creepiest. It’s set in 1964 at Briarcliff Manor, a fictional mental institution run by the dominating Sister Jude played by the amazing Jessica Lange. There’s demons, Nazi doctors performing grisly experiments on the inmates and even aliens.
And oh, the opening credits will haunt you for weeks.
