Being John Malkovich director Spike Jonze — who recently directed that action-figure extravaganza for The Beastie Boys — has now collaborated with designer Olympia Le-Tan’s and director Simon Cahn to animate 3,000 pieces of felt.

Their film — Mourir Auprès de Toi (“To Die By Your Side”) — tells the story of two amorous books covers in Paris’s Shakespeare and Company book store. Unlike the playthings of Toy Story, books are less well-behaved when the lights go out.
