Poor good lookin’ Tom Welling — he’s never going to get to leave Smallville. They must have something really good on him, since rumor has it, he’s about to re-up. According to EW, Welling is just about to close the deal on being the big shining star for Smallville’s ninth season. I don’t know what I’m more surprised about: that Tom Welling hasn’t started looking for seedy roles to dirty up his persona, like Jessica Biel posing topless while still starring in Seventh Heaven, or that there’s more material for Smallville’s writers to dream up.
