What has director Joseph Kosinski been up to since wrapping up Oblivion? Well, it sounds like he's been getting Tron 3, the sequel to Tron: Legacy, ready to film. Yes, folks, it looks like we're getting another trip to the neon-lit Grid.
VancityBuzz, a local Vancouver blog, broke the news that filming on Tron 3 is set to begin this fall, and Badass Digest got reliable confirmation that the film really is a go with Kosinski back onboard. Assuming all of VancityBuzz's intel is correct, Garrett Hedlund will be returning as Sam Flynn, son of Kevin Flynn, and filming will launch October 5, 2015.
Well, it will be interesting to see how this turns out. Tron: Legacy had some great visuals (not to mention the music), but was weak on story, but there was a lot we liked about Kosinski's last outing, Oblivion. Let's hope that he continues to grow as a filmmaker as he returns to the Tron franchise.
