The future isn’t what you may have imagined, according to Esther Pearl Wilson‘s wonderful paintings that bring sci-fi and suburbia into a humorous, poignant collision.
Dallas native Wilson’s skewed worldview may have been shaped by her upbringing; her father’s hobby when she was growing up was to build flying saucers out of scrap metal. If only all parental eccentricities led to such productive results.
Wilson’s latest show, Visions of the Future runs until February 7th at Billy Shire Fine Arts in Culver City, CA.
