When you see a road submerged in four feet of water, what should you do? The answer is definitely NOT to try to go through it, as one or two UK motorists learn each day. Listen, just because your satellite navigation is right most of the time, doesn’t mean you need to listen to it when your eyes tell you there’s a river in the way. We know how great sat-nav is normally (we named ours Betty), but you have to draw the line somewhere. Lest you be out £25 to some local bumpkin for fishing out your car.
