Claudia Puig over at USA Today gets it wrong, yet again. The film critic has posted an article called “Dark themes shine a beacon of light at the theater” which is supposed to be about how depressing flicks were big at the box office, but it quickly devolves into nothing more than a list of her best and worst of the year. Plus she snubs science fiction films altogether. Memo to Claudia: Danny Boyle’s brilliant (and underappreciated) film Sunshine was just about the darkest-themed film out there this year, plus shining a beacon of light! It’s all about reigniting our dying sun.
