Not so much of a review as an attempt to pick up his jaw off the floor, this article at TrustedReviews details the ViewSonic VP2290b, an $8,500 monitor (with a $2,000 video card) with an amazing 3,840 x 2,400 resolution spread out across its 22.2-inches. To give you some idea of what that means, an image from a 9.2-megapixel camera could be displayed pixel-for-pixel on the monitor without any scaling down. Powered by a single Parhelia HR256 with dual-DVI outs, the VP2290b is has top-notch image quality, but a relatively low refresh rate, meaning that even if you steal one from your college’s research laboratories, you probably won’t want to play videogames on one — not that you could find a 3D card that could power it.
