It's dim, it gets hot, and it will probably chew through batteries faster than an electric car. But damned if this vintage Swiss Army flashlight dating back to the '50s and '60s isn't a lovely piece of hardware.

As the story goes, a cache of the decommissioned flashlights were recently discovered in Switzerland. And one can now be yours for a mere $35. Compared to today's flashlights it's probably not worth keeping in your glovebox for emergencies. Even with a set of sliding red or green signal filters, and the ability to send messages in morse code using the push button on/off switch. But as a retro collectible, this has hipster bike adornment written all over it. [Abodeon via bookofjoe]
