Warren Ellis has written loads of stories where characters peel back a thin veneer of comforting distraction to reckon with just how messed up the world really is. It can be uncomfortable, but you can’t stop reading because it feels so damn right.

If you’re not familiar with the man, Ellis is a highly-regarded writer who has co-created raved-about comics series like Transmetropolitan, Planetary, The Authority, and Marvel’s Karnak (seen above). He’s written for television, too, with contributions to Justice League Unlimited and G.I. Joe: Resolute amongst his credits. His new novel Normal is set in a facility that treats mental breakdowns suffered by futurists trying to stave off mankind’s ever-encroaching, self-inflicted doom. We ran an excerpt earlier this week and now the man once known as The Love Swami in olden internet days is here to answer your questions about his work and the unborn hells that await us all. He’ll be here to answer your questions about his work from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET.
