Watch Daredevils With Jetpacks Fly Next to People Standing on Top of Airplanes

If you’re going to be flying in the air with a jetpack attached to your back, you might as well do it with folks who have strapped themselves standing to the wings of an airplane. Why not, right?

One, because they’re probably the only people crazy enough to fly with you like that. And two, well, it just looks dope as hell to see Jetman flying next to wingwalkers over Dubai.

Fun fact: wing walking was a thing in the ‘20s. Barnstormers flew from town to town, making their living putting on airshows and selling rides. Wing walkers were a prime attraction; the pilot would fly down the main street of the town with someone hanging from the wing. The wing walker was sometimes a scantily clad young woman. The local gentry, most of whom had never seen an airplane before, turned out in droves; at its peak these aerial gypsies could gross over a hundred thousand dollars in a season, a fortune at the time. These daredevils often worked without a safety line, and more than a few fell to their deaths. Wing walkers Ormer Locklear, Virginia Angel, Bonnie Rowe, Clyde Pangborn and Charles Lindbergh (yes, that Charles Lindbergh) became popular celebrities.
