If Lego ever decides to build an industrial version of its building toy, there are countless designs outline that would let anyone build their own workshop. Even a computer-guided lathe, thanks to Arthur Sacek’s latest creation that can turn a chunk of foam into a curvaceous creation based on nothing more than an outline sketched onto a piece of paper.
If you can draw a wiggly line, you can create everything from tiny table legs, to decorative peg legs, to even miniature baseball bats. And sure, for the time being they’ll only be made from foam, but if Lego does realize the potential of a professional-grade building toy, there’s no reason you couldn’t one day build yourself a livable house too.
