VPN Servers in India After the 2022 Rules
Using a VPN in India is legal, but most major VPNs have no physical servers there. In 2022, India’s CERT-In directions required VPN companies to keep users’ names, contact details, and IP addresses for five years. NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Surfshark, and Proton VPN removed their Indian servers instead.
