In the late 1990s, director Ridley Scott was hoping to revive his flagging career with a new adaptation of Richard Matheson's I Am Legend starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. He and the studio never could get on the same on the same page, but the makeup designs for the would-be movie's monstrous infected still remain. The video is a bit NSFW on account of naked vampire mockups.
Scott worked with special effects artists Tom Woodruff Jr and Alec Gillis to create designs for his feral vampire creatures. At the end of the video, Woodruff and Gillis reveal that there were discussions about reusing the designs for the Will Smith version of the film. Looking at these designs, it's a shame that the later I Am Legend team decided to go digital.
