Have you been wondering why the Spider-Man musical is called Turn Off The Dark? Apparently Bono, the musical’s songwriter, came up with the name. Says director Julie Taymor: “It was a story that he heard about a child who would say to his daddy, he was sleeping, and instead of saying ‘turn on the light,’ he would say ‘turn off the dark.'” She also reiterated that Peter Parker will sing, but once he puts on the Spider-Man costume, the singing stops. There will be no singing in tights. [L.A. Times via Rolling Stone]
