Space Pirate Captain Harlock is a beloved manga and anime series about a space adventurer, from the creator of Space Battleship Yamato (aka Star Blazers). A couple years ago, they made a live-action* version, and now at last it’s coming to the U.S. And we’ve got free passes to a few screenings later this week.

* Update: My mistake. Apparently this version is CG animation. Sorry!

Harlock: Space Pirate will be available on DVD and VOD, in both English and Japanese, on March 31 — but meanwhile, there are some screenings being organized through Tugg. You can also request a Tugg screening in your town, and it’ll happen if you just get enough people signed up.

Here are the three screenings that are happening later this week, in New York, L.A. and San Francisco, that we have passes for:

Los Angeles, CA

Wednesday, 3/25 – 7:30PM

AMC Universal CityWalk 19, 100 Universal City Plaza, Los Angeles, CA, US, 91608

Language: English

San Francisco, CA

Thursday, 3/26 – 7:30PM

AMC Van Ness 14, 1000 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA, US, 94109

New York, NY

Thursday, 3/26 – 7:30PM

If you want to go to any of those screenings for free, just email [email protected] with your name and email address. We have 10 passes for each of those screenings, but the number might be extended if the response is strong enough.
