Folks at the 2005 World Expo in Aichi, Japan are building a clock made out of “wooden plastic,” a composite material made by drying and dicing waste wood and re-pressing it into a harder, denser material.
There is apparently little difference in strength when compared to standard plastics but I suspect that the makers are trying to create a more eco-friendly (?) form of plastic.
