If you fancy buying yourself a little slice of photographic history, now’s your chance. Because the Leica IIIa rangefinder used by Alfred Eisenstaedt to capture the iconic V-J day photo Kiss in Times Square is up for sale.

Expected to fetch between $26,000 – $33,000, the camera has a rich history: it was used throughout Eisenstaedt’s career, and was even employed to photograph Bill Clinton and his family in 1993. Eisenstaedt died, at the age of 96, just two years later.

The lucky bidder who wins the auction will take away the camera, along with the accompanying 50-millimeter f/2 Summitar lens and original VIOOH viewfinder. If you’re interested—despite the price tag—go take a closer look. [Westlicht Camera Auction via Amateur Photographer via Verge]
