You Can Finally Watch an Award-Winning Short About a Man Struggling With Cannabalism

What, you haven’t seen a fuzzy, stop-motion animation story about a man’s struggle with cannibalism told backwards through time before?

Nina Gantz’s short Edmond won the Short Film Jury Award: Animation at Sundance and the British Short Animation BAFTA and it’s easy to see why. The premise is so disturbing, but the actual short isn’t presented as horror. Instead, Gantz engenders empathy with the gentle and soft style of the short. It also justifies the reverse chronology conceit, since seeing where the urges originated would have less of an impact before seeing the adult Edmond struggle.

Watch and come to your own conclusions.
